Our Story
Gabriel and Karen had been married two years when they decided to start a leather business with the idea to craft fine, elegant handbags. While they were working on this project (Dumalva TM Dumalva.com), they fell in love with a 2-month old Yorkie puppy, whom they named Beck. He was so adorable that Karen and Gabriel joked that they should dress him up with their fine materials. Their little "kid" inspired them to craft his first collar, a leather bow collar they designed in teal color with a matching leather information tag. Beck is now 4 years old and still wears his beautiful soft leather collar! Then both started making Beck's icon collar for clients with furry "kids" that purchased their handmade bags. As a result, people started asking about the product and placing custom ordered bow collars for their adorable dogs. During the pandemic, demand rose for the custom collars, so they have decided to focus even more on the dog accessory line. "Beck is our loving companion and we are inspired by him and by the dog friendly community that surround us. Because we love them and consider them our family, we want to give them the best," the couple says.
